Trinity is a smorgasbord of the absolute best genetics cubensis has to offer. Like many foods we enjoy in our modern diets, mushroom strains can be hybridized through human intervention to select and cross strains, ultimately distilling the most desirable traits out of numerous strains. 

Trinity has the massive potency boost thanks to Penis Envy – a legendary strain often referred to as the most potent cubensis, PE boasts alkaloid levels (psilocin, psilocybin, baeocystin, aeruginascin) three times higher than other varieties. However, it is worth noting that Penis Envy has the drawback of being a very slow colonizer and a strain that tests patience. So this likely also applied to Trinity.

In addition, there’s the Tidal Wave genetics – a hybrid between B+ and Penis Envy. B+ is a strain most researchers have heard of and one of the world’s most well-established cubensis varieties. While many people hate on B+, it is known to be contamination resistant, speedy, and dependable – perfect for researchers of any skill level.

And, of course, Aztec God – this strain comes from wild cubensis found in the Popocatepetl Mountains of Paso de Cortes, Mexico (just south of Mexico City) by French myologist Roger Heim in 1956. Spore vendor Sporeslab used their PSILO-Q Test Kit (a home-use psilocybin test kit) to determine alkaloid levels in Aztec God – this strain boasted 1.5% total tryptamine content (for comparison, the average is between .6-.8%).

It’s almost excessive, all the ridiculously potent genetics behind the Trinity strain. If working with this strain, we recommend starting with as little as one-third of your typical dosage. It’s easy to be overzealous and take too much – but remember, while you can’t ever take less, you can always take more. 

Suppose you go balls out and take a heroic dose of Trinity mushrooms. In that case, it might be best to ensure you are on good terms with the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit – as you will likely end up meeting this trinity of divine beings during such an experience.

Trinity mushroom specifications

Trinity mushroom caps reach over 50mm wide, tend to be light/dark brown to golden colored, and often lack a veil (similar to Penis Envy). The average height is 75-125mm, and potency is believed to be above average (probably thanks to PE’s contribution to genetics).

The fruiting bodies also sport a very penis-like appearance, and sometimes fruits do not produce spores. Interestingly, it is widely believed in mycology that waiting until sporulation starts to harvest results in a less potent mushroom (compared to harvesting before spore production begins). 

The idea, then, has come to be that as the fungus diverts resources and energy to spore production, the alkaloid levels take a hit and drop a bit. So, it makes logical sense that a strain like Trinity or Penis Envy that doesn’t always drop spores is extra strong. Furthermore, the lack of a veil means that it’s often very challenging to collect spores from Trinity, explaining why these spore syringes are so rare.
